To convert roofing squares to shingle bundles, multiply by the bundles-per-square — 3 for 3-tab, 4 for architectural. A 20-square roof needs 60 or 80 bundles before waste.
bundles = squares × 3 (3-tab) or × 4 (architectural).

The formula
bundles = squares × bundles-per-square (3 or 4)
Add waste before ordering — 10–25% by roof complexity. The bundle calculator handles it, and how many bundles walks through it.
