To convert a roof angle in degrees to a rise:12 pitch, multiply the tangent of the angle by 12. A 26.6° roof is a 6/12 pitch.
rise = tan(degrees) × 12. A 45° roof is a 12/12 pitch.

The formula
rise = tan(degrees) × 12
